    This fundraiser will benefit

    Bala Tripura Sundari

    from Hyderabad, Telangana

Bala Tripura Sundari (my mother) was diagnosed with breast cancer in Jan 2019. One Lymph node was involved and independent development of cancer on both sides. She has been treated with Docetaxel based chemotherapy along with trastuzumab in addition to bilateral mastectomy and radiation. The last cycle of trastuzumab was given in Mar2020

In May 2020, she was admitted with severe headache upon which she was diagnosed with multiple blood clots in addition to spread to brain (two metastatic lesions in right temporal lobe and right side of pons). She was hospitalized for about fortnight (supported by ventilator for 4 days) and discharged with dissolved clots.

Subsequently, palliative radiation therapy (SRT) was given for the brain mets (cancerous tissue in the brain). The treatment with kadcyla is now suggested for her.

She does not have any other comorbid conditions. She had fought until now with a very positive and optimistic mindset and is still fighting this condition with warrior spirit. (The picture is taken after her surgery) I lost my father to diabetic nephropathy (kidney failure) after kidney transplantation donated by my mother. So she is now having a single kidney. I have a younger unmarried sister

I could manage treatment costs up until now with my savings and other means. This prescribed drug kadcyla is required at a dose of 216 mg per cycle (@3.6 mg/kg for a 60kg person) which would cost upto INR.3,20,000/- for the drug itself per cycle. The drug manufacturer’s (Roche) website indicated that after 6 completed cycles, the drug could be given at free of cost. So for this 6 cycles, it would cost upto INR.19,20,000/-

As I have run out of options, I request your support in this regard.

Your contribution will cover drug costs, and I could manage the other hospital bills. We will keep updating her health conditions. Thank you so much for your kindness and support
