My name is Biplab Banerjee, father of Baibhab Banerjee. It is my hard luck to see my baby celebrate his 1st birthday battling with Kidney Cancer (Renal Carcinoma). He completed his 1st birthday last month only.

It was a regular day for us in August, our baby was so normal and energetic a day before when we first encountered that blood was coming out when he passes urine. We were so scared and shocked; without any delay, we immediately took him to the local hospital. The test results revealed that our baby has a tumour in his kidney, and we need to remove one of his kidneys immediately to save his life. 

Despite all the financial hurdles, we admitted our baby to Apollo Hospital in Chennai for surgery. The doctor also mentioned that a series of chemotherapy session may be required after the surgery if the disease spreads.

As a private employee in a smaller organization, I somehow managed the surgery fees by borrowing from friends. The operation was successful, and a kidney was removed, we thought our baby will now get back to his normal life.

But within a few days of the surgery, our baby stopped taking meals and was crying continuously in pain. We again admitted him to the Apollo Hospital in Chennai, where the doctor said the baby needs to undergo chemotherapy sessions as the disease is spreading. The doctor also said that we need to stay at least 6 months in Chennai to continue his treatment. 

We already invested 3 lakhs for the surgery and other expenses. Now, we need another 9705 $ (7,25,000 INR) for the Chemotherapy sessions. We also have no money left for the accommodation.

I am completely exhausted all my savings and I had taken loan for the surgery which I need to repay. I am the sole bread earner in my family and lost my job due to pandemic. We have nothing left to continue his treatment.

My son used to be a very energetic and lively kid. Now, he is experiencing immense pain. He stopped taking food and crying a lot because of pain and fever.
