Only two remain now. Two died very young, one passed away recently after a car accident, one is missing, and one pup, luckily, has been adopted.
We are raising funds to help provide urgent medical treatment for the two remaining pups. They were tested for illnesses before they could be vaccinated. They tested negative for Parvo, but have unfortunately tested positive for Canine Distemper.
Canine distemper is an extremely contagious and serious illness that affects dogs. It is often fatal, but the pups have a chance to survive and have a good life if the illness is caught and treated early enough. Currently the pups are being cared for the local parking attendants, two volunteers, and the medical team from BMR Pet clinic who are visiting the dogs to provide treatment. The treatment plan will be 5-7 days, medication administered twice per day, including IV drip and Canglob D.
- Rs. 16,800 (Rs. 600 X 2 rounds a day X 2 pups X 7 days) = IV Drip costs 600 rupees per round, twice a day for two pups for 7 days
- Rs 6000 for Canglob D (1 bottle is 6 ml @Rs.3000. We give 1.2 ml per dog per day for 5-7 days. Our vet kindly provided this medication at a discount, usually MRP is Rs. 3500 per bottle!)
- Rs. 1000 (support for Parking attendants who are providing care out of their own goodwill)
- Total: 23,800
