Myself Sukram Hembrom, resident of Chaibasa (Jharkhand). My 3 months old daughter is admitted in Rani Hospital Ranchi since 28/12/2020.
She is suffering by acute respiratory problem due to blockage in breathing tract and put under life support by "intubation" by mouth and additional dose of oxygen supply. Feed is provided by nasal. Ultrasound of neck conducted on 29/12/2020. After reviewing report Bronchoscopy Operation was conducted on 30/12/2020. A sample of the Cyst from neck was extracted and sent for Lab test. Report is expected after a weeks time. Further course of treatment/operation is dependent on the report. On 01/01/21 doctors tried to remove her from ventilator but she could not resist. Next day they tried again but in vain. So, an ENT specialist has been consulted for his opinion.
Prior to above she was admitted in Tata Memorial Hospital Jamshedpur from 23/12/2020 to 28/12/2020. In TMH she was diagnosed 'Laryngeal Cyst', having acute respiratory problem due to blocking in breathing tract and unable to breathe. CT scan of neck was conducted on 24/12/2020 and it was confirmed a blockage in windpipe due to Cyst. On 25th after doctors review immediate operation was advised. 26th it was reported the operation was not feasible in TMH as the Apparatus available is not suitable for minors of her age. Thereafter it was advised to shift her to a facility availing both Operation and Paediatric ICU for observation. Availability of Paediatric and ENT specialist is a must.
Notably she had also undergone a birth related treatment ( in TMH for multiple dysfunction ) immediately after her birth. Born on 6/10/2020 and was admitted to TMH Jamshedpur on midnight of 7/10/2020. She was diagnosed for Neonatal seizures, Persistent pulmonary hypertension, Suspected Laryngomalacia, Acute kidney injury. She was discharged on 21/10/2020 after satisfactory stability. Since her birth she had inspiratory stridor with mild retractions.
She was again re-admitted on 24/10/2020 as 'seizures' were noticed. This Seizures were not found to be stable and could have arrested her breathing. Later, when her breathing was found stable and satisfactory she was discharged on 26/10/2020.
Thereafter timely visited to TMH OPD on 2nd Nov for EEG, general review visits on 5th Nov, 19th Nov & 22nd Nov as instructed. Observation of her weight gain was not found satisfactory. On visiting 22/12/2020, we were advised to admit her to Hospital ( Malnutrition treatment center ) for treatment of malnutrition. On 23/12/2020 we went to Sadar Hospital Chaibasa to admit her, but a drastic drop in oxygen level and pulse was observed and immediately referred her to TMH Jamshedpur again and admitted on 23/12/2020.

It was very unfortunate to be in a demanding situation and found wanting. Immediate medical attention was required at both instances which could not be anticipated. Now we stand to a situation where contributions are only hope for meeting the medical expenses. Pls don't let go this chance of my daughter's survival.
