My father lost his balance while carrying a 20 litre bucket full of water for watering plants on November 15, 2020.
The moment it happened me and my mother lost our senses and ran towards my father. He was crying because of pain. We somehow made him lie down on the mattress placed on floor as he was not able to stand or walk at all and we don’t have any male member in our family who could have lifted him.
After hours of rest he was still in pain.
He didn’t ate for 3days just had water in the fear of how he will go to washroom.
Me and my mother consulted a local doctor who guided us to make him rest as much as he can and gave few painkillers.
A week later we managed to take him to hospital where staff said he has multiple minor fractures in pelvic bone.
We broke our savings and got him admitted for further examination, just another day nurse told us he has covid and they need to quarantine him there and we cannot take him home with us to which me and my mother got shocked as we got him tested for covid before getting him hospitalised and reports were negative. After 3 days me and my mother decided to take him home anyhow and managed to pay the hospital dues of ₹103,500/- from the savings we broke. We got him tested for covid again at Govt clinic for free as we didn’t had money to visit private lab and again reports were negative.
Amid all this chaos we made him rest again for more than 7-8days as we didn’t had any male help who could lift or bear my father’ weight and calling ambulance help was not in our budget as we exhausted all our savings in paying bill of the hospital we went earlier.
Later my mother took him to a charitable hospital in Kalkaji, Guru Nanak Medical Centre.
This time we consulted Orthopedist (bone doctor) who immediately said that my father has multiple minor fractures in his pelvic bone and they suggested an immediate surgery and asked us to visit a hospital as where we went it was a charitable medical centre and it did not have the facilities to support my father's critical leg surgery and warned us if we didn’t get him operated as soon as possible he might won’t be able to walk ever again.
As a result of this we started knocking on every possible door where we thought we might get some help but even after a month we barely have any money with us for my father’s leg operation.
Doctor gave us an estimate of ₹650,000 which will cover my father’s operation cost, his medicine expenses, hospital stay and other miscellaneous medical expenses.
Hence, it is a heartfelt request to please provide any sort of feasible financial assistance from your end. Every bit counts. Also request you to keep my father in your prayers.
