Miraj is a familiar name for any music connoisseur. A historic town in southern Maharashtra, it can boast of many things. One of them is music. Perhaps the best center in the world for manufacturing high quality stringed instruments. Particularly famous for sonorous sitar and tanpuras.
The sitarmakers ( self evident name) are bearing the brunt of the lockdown like a lot of communities in the world. With all the travel suspended, all the orders cancelled or struck in transit things look challenging for the community. The skilled workers who make the sonorous instruments may face hardships and starvation owing to economic uncertainties. We won't let that happen.
