80G tax benefits for INR donations

Story

Samarthya is a registered Section 8 Not for Profit which is being led by Teach For India, BITS Pilani Goa, IIT Delhi Alumni.

Samarthya, over the last 2 years, has been closely working with the migrant communities in Delhi and Haryana. We have majorly been involved in getting these communities involved in the governance of their neighborhood government schools. With the second wave hitting Delhi and  the rest of North India, multiple lockdowns have made life financially difficult for the daily wage workers in Sonipat, Haryana.

The parents we have worked with so closely for the last 3 years are running out of money to provide their families with food. In what can only be called a difficult time, we are committed to the welfare of these communities. With most of these parents being migrants they have BPL and Aadhar cards of other states. This further amplifies the barriers for them to benefit from any government scheme being run locally.

A donation of INR 1000 will help us provide 15 day ration to one family in Sonipat Haryana. All donations will be tax exempt under section 12A-80G of the Income Tax Act.
Items in the ration for one family:
1)  5 Kg Aatta
2)  5 Kg Rice
3) 1 ltr. Oil
4)  Spices (4 * 100 gms each)
5) Pulses (3 * 500 gms)
6) Vegetables (5 Kg)
7) 5 packets of biscuits
