My name is Rohit Patnaik and I am here to raise funds for my brother Asit Patnaik who is bravely fighting to defeat his present condition of cardiogenic shock and multiple organ failure.
Asit was diagnosed with a cardiac illness (cardiomyopathy and ventricular tachycardia) for the last 7 years and had a cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) since then. He had been compliant with a strict diet, and complied with medical therapy and exercise therapy.
Things were going well until 27th February 2021, when he was admitted to hospital due to ventricular tachycardia and cardiogenic shock which resulted in the failure of multiple organs like the Heart, Kidney & Liver. Immediately he was put on a ventilator and 2 procedures were performed for heart support. On 28th February he was put on ECMO Machine which is currently managing him. The doctors also listed him for an emergency Heart transplant.
Till today the hospital bill has reached 30 lakhs and there is a total estimate of 50 lakhs from the doctors (only the operation charges, future hospitalization & medicine are separate). We have spent the entire insurance amount + saving + help from relatives; we need 50 lakhs more for his operation on an urgent basis.
