I'm an architect who graduated from Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture in the year 2019. I was working with a-RT Architects, Mumbai as a Junior Architect from March 2020-21. Alongside, I was also a Teaching Assistant at Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture from August 2020-March 2021.
My financial and education background:
The financial status of my family took a drastic turn during the year 2007 when Air India started facing a severe financial crisis. Even then, my father made his ends meet to give me an A-level education in the field of Science and Architecture. I had scored a distinction in 10th and 12th which helped me enter the Architecture field easily. However, Architecture being an extremely expensive field, landed us in a big pool of debt along with other financial crises.
Knowing the number of hardships my family was facing, I decided to give my best, to give them the best when I pass out as an architect. I scored 7.52/10 CGPA. Additionally, I was involved in a number of extracurricular activities, including the benefits of the student body by getting elected as the President of the student council 2018-19.
I was one of the 8 students who were selected by the institute for the international exchange programs (Two Programs) out of 85 others in the batch.
My final year thesis project is based in the city of Varanasi, India under the title “Unraveling: Exploring the emergence of the eclectic city of Banaras.” The concern was to render the visible lives, narratives, and practices of the people who have been traditionally marginalized by the authoritative descriptions of social life. Through a focus on the social and the physical space that these people inhabit and constitute as a larger part of the image of the city. I sought to examine the ways in which these common people consciously attempt to subvert, challenge, and oppose structures of domination in everyday life.
When I passed out with a distinction certificate coupled with a strong resume and portfolio, I realized, as an Architect, I wanted to let my thesis reflect into reality knowing I can do much better in the field of Design Innovation and enhance the existing housing systems of our country by strengthening my knowledge in the field of Innovation.
I didn't want to step back and not achieve my dream. Therefore, here I am asking for help, to help me achieve my and my father's dream.
