Does the journey ever end for Ashif 22 years old from Assam, who left his home thinking he will find greener pastures beyond his borders, not knowing what the future months looked like
Lockdown - No work no money,
Starvation was his only friend.
Save Shakti, Rescue’s him finds him a job as a laborer at a construction site.
Within 3 weeks, he complains of severe pain in the abdomen.
Red Cross day clinic, scans him, detects appendicitis, directs him to Royapettah general hospital, kept under observation for 3 days.
Discharged after 2 days, within 2 hours after discharge, gets a call he is tested positive for Corona.
Now he is begging for just one night to stay at the construction site before tomorrow morning needs to find alternative accommodation.
With corporation workers hounding him to take him to a COVID institution.
His situation is no better even after one whole month has passed by, no job, no place to stay, no money, excruciating pain in the abdomen, a free bonus of COVID positive, after going to a hospital for treatment for appendicitis’s. Surgery postponed
Some questions never get answered.
