I am here to share an unfortunate incident with our friend Mr. Arkadipta Sil, a 24 years old  Electrical Engineer living at New town, Kolkata.

On 24th January 2020 evening, as he was returning home from office, Arka met with a severe life threatening road accident at 7.45pm near Rabindra Tirtha, New town, Kolkata, very near to his house. Arka was run over by a bus while alighting from the bus and sustained severe injuries on the left side of his body. His spleen got damaged and had to be removed, left lung punctured and blood draining till date, His pelvis , Scapula, several ribs on the left side and sternum badly fractured apart from numerous external injuries, and he is fighting hard for life at Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata, West Bengal.

He will have to undergo several critical surgeries and a prolonged and expensive treatment in the hospital.

 

Until now, hospital bills have already crossed Rs. 9 lacs.  and the total cost of treatment and surgeries are likely to exceed 30 lacs. as estimated by the hospital. Since Arkadipta comes from a humble background, 30 lacs treatment cost is un-affordable amount for his parents. 

Arka, the single child of his parents, has always been a scholar student through out his career. His schooling was from South Point High School, Kolkata (2014 pass out) and graduated with a B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from NIT Durgapur in 2018.
