Arathi T.R. worked as a kindergarten teacher in Bangalore before the pandemic lockdowns hit India. Being a self-made and independent person, she started her own boutique and managed her living expenses along with her husband. But in Aug-2021, she was faced with a new challenge of dealing with breast cancer which had also infected her bones, liver and lungs. She has gone through 12 sessions of chemotherapy and 10 sessions of radiation for which she used her medical insurance, savings and generous contributions from family and relatives. Her husband is nursing her 24/7 at home. Her 19-year-old son studies during the week and works part-time during the weekends, contributing his bit to the family. Currently, without any income of their own, their monthly expenses of food, medicine and house rent are supported by friends.
Her doctor at HCG, Bangalore has observed good progress in reduction of the infection and has suggested to move to the next level which is hormonal therapy. This therapy is needed for atleast 2 years. Every month she has to spend about Rs.75,000-80,000 INR. They are also exploring discount options by other hospitals. She needs your help to fight this battle. Any contribution will be of immense help for her and her family.
