Help Daily Wage Workers Overcome The COVID-19 Crisis

Tax benefits
This Program is aimed at supporting the families of daily-wage workers, who are unable to earn their living due to the COVID-19 crisis and related nationwide lockdown in India. Under this program, we'll pay Rs.2,500/- each (with a maximum up to Rs.5,000/-) per selected family.

Those working in the following sectors shall be qualified:

1. Domestic help (or housemaid)

2. Drivers/cleaners in auto-rickshaw, pickup, taxis, private bus etc

3. Shopkeeper or salesperson in shops of non-essential items (e.g.: textile shops, fancy stores)

4. Laborers in the construction and farming sectors

5. Other daily-wage workers hit by the Covid-19 crisis

* Families of widows/widowers, and those with recurring medical bills, will receive higher precedence for payout.

* Those who earn a regular monthly income will not be considered in this program, except for a convincing reason.

The Program may also fund essential items such as gloves, masks, and items for public-kitchen (eg:carry-bags, wood, rice and vegetables for public kitchen).

Excess funds if received will be used to support the Livelihood of those whose primary livelihoods were destroyed by the lockdown (eg: banana farm, vegetable farm, chicken farm) or in natural disasters.

Dear All,

As part of this Covid Relief Program, apart from continuing our support to the families of daily wage workers, we had also supported

1. The Fire Department (Kochi) through Cochin Corporation

This was the supply of three sets of specially designed sprayer pumps to disinfect Covid affected premises and areas. Smt Soumini Jain, the Mayor of Cochin, handed over the pumps to the Fire Deaprtment. The cost was approximately 1.07 lakh rupees.

2. Tribal families in Wayanad, through the Govt. Tribal Department, Kaniyambetta .
Several tribal homes are in miserable condition, and in the monsoon season they leak badly making their lives even more miserable. Moving them to relief camps was also difficult this time due to the Covid crisis. The Tribal department had requested us to supply tarpaulin sheets, to cover the roofs. We provided and distributed the sheets to the needy house holds

Photos are attached.

Thanking you all for your generous support,

Shaji
