A 10-month-old baby, Ankit Maity, is suffering from “Post Adenoviral Bronchiectasis (Progressive)” and is under treatment in “Institute of Child Health (ICH)” in Kolkata since 7th April 2019. The treatment needs expensive medicines and continuous hospitalisation with ventilation. Due to the problem in his respiratory system, he can not survive without ventilation even few seconds. In order to survive, the doctor has said to get respiratory support at home. So, an instrument called HHFNC (Heated, humidified, high-flow nasal cannula) needs to be bought which is used as noninvasive respiratory support for preterm infants with respiratory distress. This along with the required equipments costs nearly Rs. 3.5 lakhs.
Ankit’s mother is a housewife and father is a civic police who earns 8k per month. So, it is not possible to buy this life-saving instrument on their own. So, it is my heartiest appeal to all of you, please come forward with your precious monetary help and save this baby.
