My name is Rahchand, in the past I had been involved as a contributor for many campaigns and this is the first time I am initiating a campaign. This is for Anjana who is 34 years old. Anjana lives in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala with her 2 siblings and mother. I came to know about their story from a random whatsapp forward, the faces looked very familiar, upon some research it was found they were our neighbors in the military camp during my school days. The story of Anjana and her family is very saddening, she lost her father 3 years back when she was about to get married, the family was just recovering from the loss that another setback hit them, it was her frequent illness, loss of weight etc, initially the reason was not discovered later when her conditioned worsened they visited Government medical college thiruvananthapuram.
Doctors from the Government medical college diagnosed that she is suffering from Renal failure. She is currently admitted and receiving Kidney Dialysis from a private hospital near her home 3 days a week and every visit needs around 2000RS.
Until now, they have spent about Rs. 140000. They have an arranged amount from savings and brothers income. These days her mother is also not well, she lost her mental balance, now that has further aggregated their woes. They are living in a rented house and the earnings from her brother who is working as a delivery boy is used for her treatments, paying rent and other household needs.
In next 30 days, we need approximately Rs.500,000.00 more for further treatment and kidney transplant . Few kind individuals from their society had come forward and offered little help that they could manage however it's not sufficient. The whole procedure is done at the government medical college at a reasonable rate, normally private hospitals charge 4 times this amount for a similar procedure, the amount here is mainly used for paying the donor and the associated treatment costs before and post the surgery. When a suitable donor is available the hospital authorities will inform her and immediately the surgery has to be done, she will have to arrange the money and be ready for it.
