    People of the Unorganized Sector

    from Mumbai, Maharashtra

Unorganized labour, including self-employed people, constitutes over 90% of Indian Economy. This sector contributes nearly 50% to India's GDP. Of this 90%, (about 500 million individuals) 200 million individuals fall outside agriculture and construction laborers.

Economic shutdowns over months towards COVID19 mitigation have affected the livelihood and survivability of a large proportion of Indians who are:
1) Daily-wage earners
2) Hotel waiters/cleaners/Delivery boys
3) Labourers in construction, transportation, logistics
4) Migrant population
5) House-hold help
6) Road-side vendors such as vegetable and fruit vendors, paan-walas, chai-walas
7) Urban and rural poor
8) Agricultural labourers, artisans, weavers and so on.

Even after the economy is opened up, the road to pre-COVID state is a long-haul for these people.

The funds will be managed the organizer from Mumbai, India for the benefit of people from unorganized sector living anywhere in India.

This fundraiser is aimed to help these people to survive this unimaginable forced disruption to their livelihood.

Funds raised will be disbursed to eligible individuals directly into their bank account or disbursed to reputed and established Indian NGOs operating in this space.
