Dear Friend,
I haven't seen my mother's smile for the past 10 days because of COVID, help me rescue her from the ICU.
I'm Anthony from Bangalore, India. I freelance as a Corporate Emcee.
Ever since the lockdown I haven't gotten any Clients as all Corporate events have stopped. I was willing to support my Mother and myself by any means possible and so I partnered with a food-delivery company and was barely getting by.
Until, my Mother, Anita suddenly developed a fever and 5 days later she was admitted in St Johns hospital on July 9th 2020, diagnosed as COVID+.
Adding to the situation, the lockdown made it difficult for us to receive medicines required for treating her Pneumonia. We also reached out to about 20 hospitals for a ventilator when St Johns said they don't have one available at the moment- because of shortage of ventilators. When she needed a ventilator immediately, as her oxygen levels were drastically dropping, and is still fluctuating.
Her body is still trying to adapt to the COVID medication and she is completely sedated and under evasive ventilator currently.
Charges for the ICU and Ventilator are making it difficult to continue her treatment. The Hospital Estimates the expenses to be anywhere between 6-7lakh. ( The Daily charges amount anywhere between 35-50k per day)
My friends and well wishers have extended their maximum support in these difficult times, but it is nowhere close to what we need.
I am the sole bread winner of my Family and am also tested positive and under Home medication and quarantine.
The medication bills are overwhelming and progress is very slow, but I cannot give up because I know my Mother would never give up on me!
I am under tremendous Financial Strain currently and so am reaching out to you for your help and support.
Please help me sustain the medication, I want to see my Mother walk out of the hospital with that same smile I very dearly miss!
