Like every single surviving soul in this world, I too love my mother. My world shattered when she was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian carcinoma. I have been seeing her in last 40 yrs as a happy go lucky person, whose mornings and evening routine certainly has yoga and sweeping the backyard clean, while neighbours flocked around for chit chat. Never ever in my life I have seen her suffering so much from pain, she was so strong that no one found her dropping a single shred ever.

She has undergone 9 chemotherapy in NCI Jamtha, followed by a major operation where cancerous cells were removed from under her liver, stomach, complete uterus and ovary was removed. The operation continued for more than 10 hours on 7th Feb 20220, leaving her in a self loathing state. Doctor has advised further 9 chemo sessions every week, following high protein diets, blood test etc the cost of which is piled up and affecting my financial health severly. Both me and my wife are earning however we have 2 kids, my wife is managing their day to day expenses related to doctors, studies and misc. My mother,s cost of each chemo varies from 15-20K each week. A 1kg protein powder lasts 5 days costing 3200rs, each chemo has to be preceded by blood tests, her diet is separately maintained. I have taken insurance but it hardly covered 60% of the expanses. Till date I have spent more than 20 lakhs in last 6months and got around 10lacs reimbursed.
