    This fundraiser will benefit

    Anita Sapera

    from Pushkar, Rajasthan

Anita Sapera and her family belong to the snake-charming Kalbelia gypsies in rural Rajasthan in India known for their traditional dance and music. The colourfulness of their work often overshadows the fact that this community is also marginalised in society and often are not allowed to reside within the city, but only on the outskirts where clean water and other basic amenities are rarely available.
The income of the entire family of 22 (yes, that's a big family) is based on tourism as their work includes performing their art form for tourists and selling them traditional necklaces that they make.

Due to the pandemic, they have had no opportunities to make any money because of a lack of tourists and have no savings. Anita's 5 year old son, (one of the children of the Sapera family who is now of an age where he can start school) can be the first child from his family to ever recieve any kind of education. The local Government school in Pushkar asks for a fee of INR 12,000 per year. With a little bit of help from a lot of people, we can make a huge difference in little Sanjay's life and fulfil his dream of going to school.
Our goal is to raise INR 24,000 so at least 2 years of Sanjay's education are secured. We hope to raise as many funds as possible, please contribute and share with your friends, each donation holds an immense power to change a life.
