iNaturewatch Foundation an environmental NGO from Navi Mumbai started an initiative StrayiCare during pandemic to extend financial support for stray animals. For the past five years, StrayiCare has been supporting people who reach out to help animals in distress —
injured strays, abandoned pets, accident cases, and emergency situations where timely guidance can save lives. Over time, our office lines have naturally become helplines for compassionate citizens calling from different parts of India, all trying to help an animal but
struggling to find the right local support.

These calls reflect two important realities:
There is growing compassion towards animals, but there is also a serious lack of accessible and reliable information.

Many people want to help an injured stray or distressed animal, yet they are unable to quickly find the nearest veterinary hospital, rescuer, animal ambulance, foster, or NGO. This delay often leads to prolonged suffering, untreated injuries, and in many cases, preventable deaths.

Another critical concern linked to this gap is the rise in misunderstandings, fear, and instances of animal cruelty. When community animals remain injured, unsterilized, or neglected, it can lead to stress, illness, and unpredictable behaviour. In contrast, timely
medical care, responsible community management, and proper intervention significantly reduce distress in animals and help prevent conflict situations.

Better management of community animals through:
  • Timely treatment
  • Sterilization support
  • Rescue of injured cases
  • Local guidance and intervention can directly contribute to calmer animal behaviour and fewer instances of fear-driven bites orattacks.
Compassionate and informed response is not only beneficial for animals but also essential for safer and more harmonious human-animal coexistence.

To address these interconnected challenges, we are developing the StrayiCare Mobile App — a location-based, community-powered platform that will connect citizens to nearby veterinary services, NGOs, rescuers, ambulances, and foster networks, all in one place.

This is not a commercial app.
It is a social infrastructure designed to make animal help accessible, organized, and timely for every citizen.

Our Fundraising Goal: ₹7,00,000
This fund will support the design, development, and launch of the StrayiCare Mobile App on both Android (Google Play Store) and iOS (Apple App Store), along with the creation of a verified national database of animal help resources.

How Your Donation Will Be Used:
  • Mobile app development (Android & iOS)
  • Creation and verification of a national animal help database
  • Technology infrastructure and backend systems
  • Community outreach and data collection
  • Support for urgent local rescue and treatment cases where feasible.

We are building StrayiCare as a community-driven initiative, inviting NGOs, veterinarians, rescuers, volunteers, and compassionate citizens to contribute verified information and strengthen a reliable animal help network across India.

We deeply value every contribution, regardless of the amount. All donors will be acknowledged with gratitude through:
  • A formal thank-you certificate (digital)
  • Mention in the project impact report
  • Recognition on our website/social media (with consent)
