For your kind attention, I am Sajitha seeking your help on a medical emergency for my brother Anees Babu who is 41 years old, lives in Calicut, kerala with his spouse and 8 year old children. He is one among the person who lost his job during the covid pandemic. 

 Now he is suffering from multiple disorders. GBS(Guillain Barre Syndrome )    Extrapontine myelinosis of  Osmotic demylination of brain, DM with peripheral Neuropathy,Chronic Calcific pancreatitis,paralysis.

 Now he is completely  Paralyzed  and bed ridden in ICU for last two months.

He was admitted at Calicut medical college for treatment of Chronic calcific pancreatitis in january 2022. During the treatment he developed hyponatremia on account of high dosage of sodium administration (Fast correction of sodium casual treatment ).    He was shifted to ventillator for reason of Aspiration pneumonia and unconsciousness.

In view of this critical condition  we were forced to shift the patient to IQRA Hospital Calicut for better treatment on 05/Feb/2022.

at Iqra Hospital, during diagnosis GBS -Guillain Barre Syndrome was detected along with low GCS. there he was tracheotomised. The MRI scan of the brain showed extra pontine mylenosis. he gradually developed Flaccid paralysis of all the four limbs, therefore he was treated with five sessions of plasma exchange. although there is an improvement of his sensorium due to lowered sodium. Weakness of four limbs persists.

 He is being treated with sensitive antibiotics and physiotherapy for limbs weakness, which is required for quite long term in ICU.

 The expenses for treatment is very high. we have to settle the bill of Rupees 11 lakhs for the treatment already we recieved and will have to make huge amount for further treatment since the patient is still in ICU.
