I am Amruta Deshpande and I am here to raise funds for myself. I am 29 years old currently staying at Satara, Maharashtra with my parents. I was studying CA after my college but was unable to continue the same. My parents are senior citizens and I currently have no income source of my own.
I have been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) for more than 13 years. Now it's the last stage and I have to undergo Dialysis three times a week.
I was detected with COVID in october 2020 due to frequent visits in hospital for dialysis. The severity score in HRCT was 20/25 (very high). My oxygen levels were as low as 33. I was on ventilator for almost 8 days when my Doctor had lost all hopes for my survival. It was impossible to get a bed with ventilator at hospitals in our city because me being a dialysis patient and covid positive both. Finally I was shifted to another city in emergency case where my dialysis was possible. But till then I was unconscious and numb. By god's grace I was out of danger after 8 days. Back then I was hospitalized for more than 35 days. But somehow I fought back for my survival and overcame COVID. That surely was a life or death experience for me and a nightmare for my family. Covid has really taken a toll on our emotional, physical and financial conditions as well.
Until now, we've spent about Rs. 8,00,000 for my hospitalization and medicines and still ongoing expenses of dialysis which are around 25,000 per month. We are currently arranging the amount from savings, loans & selling assets. Currently me and my elder sister are the only hope for our parents.
Now I have no option left but to go for Kidney transplant as early as possible because my survival will always be in danger on dialysis treatment.
