    This fundraiser will benefit

    cyclone affected people

    from Kolkata, West Bengal

AMPHAN was a CYCLONE with wind speed ranging from 200 kmph to 265 kmph over the sea. At the time of landfall on May 20 afternoon/evening, the wind speed was 155-165 kmph gusting to 185kmph. Cyclone Amphan was likely to have a wind speed of up to 185 km per hour on Wednesday, the Union Home Ministry had updated.
This is for the first time that the Odisha is dealing with a pandemic and a natural disaster. As we had given more priority to Covid-19, we needed more buildings to be used as cyclone shelters.

I am doing this crowdfunding as per my limitations for Ghoramara island, Botkhali, and Jharkhali, a few of those most affected areas in Sundarban delta, West Bengal, India, to provide food, mainly rice, pulse, mustard oil, soap, salt, vegetable and basic medicines to cope with waterborne disease. At present we need dry food, Polyethene, Infant/Baby food, Torch or emergency light or solar light, candle, Match-Box, drinking water, etc. as an urgent and immediate help at the affected locations.

The warnings by the weather department are divided into three categories. A "Yellow warning" or "Cyclone Alert" is issued at least 48 hours in advance of the expected commencement of adverse weather over the coastal areas.
A "Red Alert" or "post-landfall outlook" signifies likely direction of movement of the cyclone after its landfall and adverse weather likely to be experienced in the interior areas.
Moreover there are still some areas where reliefs are not reaching properly. So we are planning to visit some core ares of Gosaba, Choto Mollahkhali etc.
