Climate change is a real issue and we all are well aware of its deleterious effect. With ever-increasing population and pollution, the time has never been more critical. Whatever our generation will do, will decide the future for our race, for our climate and for our environment. The time to act is now.
With the funds collected from this fundraiser, my friends and I will plant 300 trees in various location in our district. This will be the phase - I of our mission. We plan to operate indefinite number of phases. Why indefinite and why start with a small number? As a wise human once said, “to run a marathon, we must first learn how to walk”. With the success of every phase, we will regroup and plant more trees than the previous phase in a new location.
We plan to buy trees from our local government nursery. As per our estimates, a young tree will cost around 20-50 rupees, depending upon the size and species. We plan to plant many different species of trees which will help strengthening our ecosystem. We have also identified suitable locations such as Schools, Places of worship and a few others where the plants will be looked after until they are mature enough to look after us.Imagine what a million trees around our cities can do.
