'5 years ago my father suffered a brain haemorrhage and passed away. He was engaged in a private job and was the sole earning member of my family. My mother and I then shifted from Siliguri to Kolkata for my studies. I was a good student so to further pursue my education I had to take some loans. We were managing somehow after my father's tragic death but then reality struck our peaceful abode again when I got the news of my mother's colon cancer in 2019. She had to undergo colonoscopy and cyst removal operation. After the operation the biopsy report showed that there are still some cancerous growth in the colon. She had to undergo colostomy operation and her descending part of colon was removed. My friends and family helped me as much as they could but still I had to borrow lump sum amount for my mother's ailment. After the last biopsy the doctors suggested eight cycle chemotherapy. It will cost around three lakh twenty thousand rupees (forty thousand/per cycle) for the total chemotherapy process. The chemotherapy has already started and it will continue till December. I have no source of income and I am out of my wits as to how to procure this much amount of money. Any help will be highly appreciated. I have no one but my mother in this world.
In 2021, my mother underwent eight cycles of chemotherapy, and for a while, she showed signs of improvement. However, over the past few months, she has been battling severe pain, and recent MRI and CT scans have confirmed a relapse. This time, the cancer has spread to her lungs and liver, necessitating a new round of intensive chemotherapy which is why we've restarted this fundraiser.
The estimated cost for this crucial treatment is approximately 10 lakhs. Just last month, we had to spend nearly 89,000 for her chemotherapy at Tata Medical Centre in Kolkata. Given the financial strain we are already facing, it's overwhelming to think about how we will manage the expenses for the remaining chemotherapy sessionCurrently, my mother's physical condition is stable, but she is enduring severe pain and debilitating weakness. Our family is determined to do everything we can to ensure she receives the necessary medical care and fights this battle with all her strength.
