I am Akshar Hegde, Residing in Bangaluru.
From the day my father fell ill with a heart condition, it has been a struggle for my mother, the lone employed person in the family, to keep up with the expenses.
I was 12 years old when my father was diagnosed with Heart Arrhythmia and urgent surgery was to be done and a pacemaker had to be implanted, for him to survive.
My Mother is a teacher in a school for children with special needs and has been working for more than 30 years.
My father's medical bills exceed 5 thousand a month. With my mother's salary alone, it has been impossible to arrange funds for my education further.
I completed my Bachelor's in Physiotherapy from Kemegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, for which I had to borrow an education loan. I was looking to study for my master's and soon, got an offer to study Sports medicine in The University of Exeter, United Kingdom.
Being from a middle-class family, it has been difficult to support my education. Banks demand collateral security, which we do not have.
A strong and sincere appeal to all of you to step in and do your bit for me and help me continue my education. It has been a struggle for me and my family since many years and this opportunity will certainly put an end to our struggle. This small act of yours will motivate me to work harder and help me serve society.
