Mhaswad, one of the driest villages in Maharashtra, has got a school where children even from nearby small villages which don't have schools travel almost 20 km to reach here. These are the children of cobblers, milkmen, farmers and various daily wage workers. When asked, some of these children do dream to become Dhoni, Ronaldo, Messi, Mithila Raj, Federer or Saina Nehwal. But they don't even have basic sports equipment. I have seen them receiving 1 football once in a while and playing until it gets flattened and eventually start playing disc throw with it. Children over here have learned to find happiness in their miseries too. I don't know if they are going to be Dhoni or Saina one day, but I certainly want to give them the joy of playing.
