Simi Patgiri of Pobitora, Assam lost her voice due to an accident. A bike hit her while she was walking to her home. Her father had to sell their land for the treatment which included a surgery & numerous trips to AIIMS Delhi. She currently uses a temporary artificial tracheostomy tube to utter words. She needs to undergo another surgery at AIIMS Delhi to restore her voice by June 2019 or would have to wait another 6 months for the surgery due to huge rush at AIIMS.
