"EATING IS NOT MERELY A MATERIAL PLEASURE-ANONYMOUS"
News and headlines such as these kept me aware of my surroundings from about 4yrs now.
Since the first time when I was asked by a table cleaning person in a marriage hall that whether I had my food or not, even though it didn't look like he himself had a satisfying meal in days had me thinking. Since that day it became clear for me on what to do to help these people.
Myself coming from a village background know the hard work that goes in producing even a single grain of rice, which people waste in a couple of seconds. My passionate interest in doing something for society led me to begin achieving my goal. Being a student coming from a middle-class family having little money which is not adequate in achieving this feat.
Work was done so far:
Honestly, I recommend in functions to make only adequate food to feed the guests and keep wastage minimal.
Also, I put up a banner in the food hall to just have only the items you can eat and keep the wastage minimal. Rest will be given away to strangers who stay around that area. I've tried doing this in marriage halls around my area but most people don't cooperate(Sad truth).
My larger dream:
As it is mostly understood that my mission is to minimize the wastage of food.
Following are the steps I would want to execute-
i)Buy small vans(Omni, Tata Ace, etc) at a reasonable price.
ii)Buy vessels and utensils for the storage of food.
iii)Hire people for driving and 1-2 helpers.
iv)Approach an NGO for further help(Salaries, maintenance, fuel, etc)
v)Expand this all over the state and also would suggest people from other states do the same.
i)Vehicle X5-- 10-12L
ii)Utensils X5-- 1-1.5L
iii)Salary X15-- 2-2.5L
iv)Initial expenses --1L
