3-year-old Abdulrehman sits on his hospital bed and quietly writes letters in his notebook. The little one has led a very difficult life. He never got a chance to go to school and live a life like other kids his age.
Since he was a year old, he has been suffering from DOCK8 deficiency, a rare immune disorder that decreases numbers of immune cells. Because of that, the patient becomes prone to recurrent viral infections of the skin and respiratory system and has an increased risk for cancer.
I am his father Amad Saadi and my wife Sameena we can’t be put into words. We lost their firstborn within a year of his birth. The baby had severe itching and diarrhea. Before we could understand what was wrong with him, he breathed his last.
However, when the little one turned a year old, even he fell sick. He had recurrent pneumonia and was very weak. Me and my wife had already lost one kid, we were adamant to do anything it takes to save Abdulrehman.

We have already drained the lifetime’s savings to be able to fund his expensive treatment, but now, we have reached a point where it seems impossible to raise even a penny when they need lakhs.
