Rural Uttar Pradesh has been one of the worst affected areas during the second wave in 2021. Almost every house has a case. The pandemic has not only stripped the people of their livelihoods but also their loved ones due to rural hospitals' inability to cope with the virus. We want to cater to families who have lost their sole breadwinners, primarily Dalit and Muslim women and children. These two communities don’t have lands, government jobs due to systemic oppression and now they’ve lost their wages to the pandemic too.
We aim to reach out to 200 such families in Rural UP and feed them!
We are working on ground in UP’s Saharanpur district, providing ration and menstrual hygiene kits to these women’s families. We aim to cover all the villages that fall under this district:
Rice - 4kg- Rs. 36/kg
Flour - 5kg - Rs 125/kg
