A doctor for humans but animal welfare is close to my heart. I have already gotten about 70 + dogs sterilized and was aiming to get more but since the lockdown happened, everything came to a standstill.
I also feed 40+ dogs daily and the number of hungry animals has increased a lot during this COVID situation.
With necessary permission, the organization agreed to again sterilize the furries I send Because if we don't get them sterilized, we cant keep up with the ever-growing population.
So, my work of getting the dogs and feeding the dogs and vaccinating young pups is still ongoing during Corona lockdown..and I was recently famished to see the condition of dogs in the BURRABAZAR area of Kolkata, West Bengal..there are about 300+ dogs living on scraps of food as the markets are all closed and many of the mothers are in heat..my friend Poulomi who feeds the dogs there contacted me to get the dogs there sterilized.
So, I, Shreemoyee, Poulomi and Sutapa, 4 of us will take all necessary precautions during this lockdown and send the dogs in batches of 10 to 15 every 6 to 7 days and get them sterilized.
Each spay from the mother's heart costs Rs 1800 or 25 USD.
Please keep donating as the markets are somewhat deserted during this lockdown and its easier to catch the dogs now or else this opportunity will be lost when the lockdown is lifted.
We can feed some but if the number isn't in check we can't keep up. please help us by donating generously to this noble cause.thankyou
