Aadesh Sandip Sherekar, an eight years old boy in India, is diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a rare disorder in which the bone marrow fails to produce enough blood cells. Worldwide figures suggest the incidence of aplastic anemia is 0.7-4.1 cases per million people. The root cause for aplastic anemia is very difficult to detect especially in children and the treatment is very expensive and risky. Aadesh is diagnosed with this disease by Central India Institute of Haematology & Oncology hospital in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India and he is been referred to Comprehensive Thalassemia Care Paediatric Hematology Oncology & BMT Centre in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India for further treatment. The expected treatment cost is Rs.12,00,000 i.e. approximately $17,300. Aadesh's parent is unable to bear the heavy medical treatment costs and hence badly needs financial support so that they can save their 8 years old son.
