The impact of COVID 19 virus created a lockdown situation in India and it had been extended further more to 14 days. Our adopted villages in Tiruvallur district are mostly depend upon agriculture. The people belonging to tribal community and vulnerable people are suffering a lot in this lock down period and some of them had lost their hope of future. It is a period to face many problems due to this pandemic disease. In Tiruvallur district Irulas tribal community living more than 50 habitation. In our adopted Pallipet block, there are 10 tribal habitations( ranging 25 to 55 families) and around 350 tribal families are living. Pallipet block is bordering Andra Pradesh state. Tribal habitation are in the very remote area less connectivity to main area. In our adopted villages there are 150 vulnerable families are living. Tribal and vulnerable mostly daily wage earners and dependent of others. Some of the tribal people are working in brick chambers, rice mills, wandering for wood cutting work and all others agricultural labourers. The impact of Covid 19 had lost courage of the stock holders and strength now they are fighting for survival. At present their savings dried up and unable to meet their daily living needs.
We Society for Caring the Needy planned to support these tribal and vulnerable families to provide provisional kit of food grains and groceries and personal protection kit worth of Rs.1000 each family. We small NGO focusing tribal and vulnerable development. We just started Covid 19 relief campaign. Kindly support to save the life of tribal and vulnerable families in our adopted area.
