75000 low-income homes to be digitally empowered by 2021
Pune City Connect is a nonprofit organization working with the slum and low-income communities of Pune. We are working towards eradicating the digital divide and creating opportunities for growth and well-being.
Our goal is to enable 100% Digital Empowerment in Pune - at least one person in every low-income household should be able to leverage the internet to improve their quality of life.
We work with Government, Corporates and Nonprofits to run a Digital Empowerment program that is run online/ through Digital Empowerment centers via a short yet impactful 40-hour curriculum that covers the following:
Helping to get access to digital platforms to know more about various e-governance schemes and facilities available.
Educating on how to use different platforms such as Google, YouTube, PayTm, and other applications for accessing information, learn new skills and make a digital purchase.
Helping make safe online monetary transactions for shopping, bill payments, ticket booking, etc. Also, enabling ways to raise complaints and rate service providers on digital platforms.
52,000 citizens have been trained across low-income communities of Pune city through physical centers and virtual classes.
