We are raising funds for Aaina Dekho, an Initiative of Mera Gaon Meri Dunia in collaboration with We Are One, which aims towards building empathetic leaders through self-awareness and service. We are at present transforming rural scenarios through decentralized leadership and a residential program named Aaina Dekho to build 30 empathetic leaders per year. Aaina-Dekho is a 6 days residential program to nurture empathy among youth through self-awareness, service, compassion and listening. In these 6 days, participants go into the process of discovering self through specifically designed sessions which is a culmination of The Head, Hand and Heart.
In this program, 15 individuals will take part to co-create the environment of learning from each other and discovering self through village immersion. The program includes a rigorous training experience involving community-building activities, workshops and interactive sessions with over-arching youth leaders.
The program also accelerates the dialogues between the perspective of people living in metro cities and villages.
The objectives of the program:
- To build a sense of empathy in youth
- Connection with the rural reality and villages
- Awareness about self and choices of life
- Living with Compassion
Location- Rural areas of Sundarbans (West Bengal)
Beneficiary - 15 individuals 'social change-makers' from India

Mera Gaon Meri Dunia, registered under Section 8 of Companies Act, 2019 is an alliance of young minds based on the core values of collaboration, decentralization and joy. Our mission is to transform the education scenario in communities through school transformation by youth leaders and Building platform for youth to connect with society through self-awareness. MGMD envisions building an ecosystem for youth who are bringing sustainable social change with their communities.
We Are One is a youth-run organisation that aims to bring sustainable change to a society based on the United Nations Development Programme’s Goals. One of our key responsibilities is to preserve nature and reverse the damage being done to them. Through multiple tree plantation events all-year-round, we have been able to grow over 2500 trees all over the world this year itself. As an organisation, it’s a place for young change-makers to bring their ideas and make an actual impact on people’s lives. We are currently working on bringing eco-friendly products into mainstream usage by creating a marketplace for the same. With this program, we want to bolster the youth spirit and the active decision-making skills to help the future leaders of tomorrow.
