Many of us probably still remember our childhood playtime with fond memories… drawing our family portrait, making paper boats, playing soccer or cricket on the field, perfecting handstands, or generally being at the playground and having boisterous fun with friends.

Research finds that playtime and extracurricular activities, have a positive impact on holistic development, general health, happiness and well-being of a child.

But for many underprivileged children in India, the opportunity to play, make crafts or act in a play, is probably non-existent, a faraway dream.

It’s to bridge this gap, we at Project Sunshine (an initiative of Sunshine Foundation) are dedicated to give life skills through structured play and extra curricular activities to underprivileged children. Our vision is to help every child live a happy childhood.

We’re proud that with the help of family and friends we have successfully brought joy to over 550 children by partnering with three schools in Gurgaon to build Playgrounds and provide classes in Karate, Yoga, Arts, Kathak, and Soccer.

But we realize we cannot continue to run current activities at partner schools or bring this project to more underprivileged children without your support. The cost of employing professional instructors is about six to eight thousand rupees per month and building a playground with swing sets etc. is about one lakh rupees per school.
