Financial Request

I am Siddhartha Goswami, a businessman from Guwahati, Assam. This fund raining attempt is for Sunny from Kerala whom I know thru his sister Molly, who is a worker at Centre for Development Initiatives, Guwahati.

Fundraising for Sunny, who has undergone a liver transplant. He needs further support, and is the only breadwinner for his family.

Sunny's story as narrated by his wife -

For the last past 8 years Sunny was suffering from Cirrhosis of liver and chronic Diabetes mellitus. He has been suffering a lot. Every other day he complains of severe stomach pain and he is unable to eat anything. It is heart-wrenching to see my husband going through so much pain. When he gets sever stomach pain he used to vomit blood, he used to get fever with high temperature but Doctors advised not to give him paracetmole tablets. It is so painful to see him suffering. Every morning when he gets up, he looks at me and smiles. With his eyes full of hope and voice full of excitement, he tells me, ‘don’t worry, all this pain will go away soon and I will be back at home playing with my daughter and son’.With so much trust and confidence we pray to God everyday so that we can get him treated and take him back home safe and sound. He is the only bread winner in the family. He was diagnosed with severe hematemesis and abdominal pain in the earlier stages and diagnosed as Cirrhosis of liver by Doctors of Pariyaram Medical College, Kannur, and Kerala. Then for a better treatment we took him to Amrutha hospital, Ernakulum. Later we were forced to discontinue the treatment and resume it at Pariyaram medical college, since we could not afford the cost of the treatment. His treatment was switched to Pariyaram Medical College. Since then he was suffering from many complications of Cirrhosis of liver and was unable to do any work. In between he has got Incisional umbilical hernia and had herniorhapy in 2018. But after herniorrhapy his condition got worsened, manifested by swollen extremities, distended abdomen, indigestion, severe abdominal pain and profuse body ache. He was taken from pariyaram to Mangalore K S HEGDE MEDICAL ACADEMY, Derlakatte, there the team of Doctors suggested having immediate liver transplant, suggested to consult Dr. Venugopal of KIMS hospital, Trivandrum. The doctor advised to have an immediate liver transplantation before December 2018 though it is too an expensive resort. Our daughter Sharan Sunny is doing 3rd BSc nursing in Mangalore and her studies are affected and she is often bothered about the overdue of her fees. And our son is studying in the 8th standard. We are from a lower middle class family. Thus, neither our siblings nor relatives are financially sound to support us. Trusting in God and goodness of relatives and friends we registered for a liver in Trivandrum as well as in Madurai. We intensified our prayers and hope kept high for the intervention of God through people. Two weeks ago 23/10/2018 we received call from Dr.Venugopal KIMs that they have received liver a 49 year man who had died and reach witin 9 hours to hospital. There was not much time left to think more. Placing all trust in God we agreed and went to hospital by 11am we reached hospital. Luckily the liver was perfectly matching and so we decided to go ahead with operation though the result showed urinary infection. So he underwent liver transplantation at KIM’s hospital Trivandrum, Kerala, India. After surgery he is getting on and has to be in transplant ICU for 14 days and 7 days in Special room. I have to arrange a house near KIMS hospital since our hometown is about 650 Km away from the hospital. Doctors have cautioned us that he may have complication up to one year thus he should have an intensive care to avoid complications. His follow up medications are costly and he has to take some additional medications to tackle complications from slightly impaired kidneys and childhood TB. He is survived of me, his wife, daughter and son. He was running a small flour mill, the only income for our family. And now it is closed down. We are in real financial crisis. Already we are in great debt we have to pay back all that we have borrowed from different people for the sake of the operation. Now humbly I request you help me face these critical situations and help me in whichever the way possible.
