Sunanda Tai Bhagavat is 66 years old social worker. Who built a girls hostel 30 years ago in a remote Adivasi area to help the girls of these poor parents get education. This is very remote place away from urban areas.

Adavasi parents struggle to put food on the table every day and with limited access to Schools or any educational facilities their kids are left with a very grim future. Sunanda Tai Bhagavat or "Aai" as most people know her, ventured out to help these girls. She was determined to provide these girls with better opportunities in life. And education was one way out, so that the girls can one day pull their families out of poverty.

Till date about 385 girls have been impacted through this great initiative and have settled down in their lives with better opportunities. And presently there are 40 girls actively seeking education at her hostel.

Tai has been doing this noble cause FREE of cost and have impacted lives of these girls and their families in a tremendous way. She is assisted by local villagers for day to day activities. Everyone is doing their part to bring change. Now she is seeking your help.

You have the power to impact their lives by donating money to help the cause. Tai is trying to build few Toilets (Restrooms) and perform building maintenance/restoration work to fix the facility.

Akshar Bharati is an initiative to nurture the reading habits in children between age group 5-15 years from underprivileged and remote areas by facilitating access to good non-academic literature. We set up libraries for such children in their localities so that the books are available when they need them the most. We strongly believe that quality reading develops the wisdom to make appropriate choices as one grows which ultimately enhances the quality of life by becoming better citizens. This is our way of contributing to the India’s Vision 2020 of being a developed and self sufficient nation
