Why am I fundraising?

In Assam, private school in vernacular medium is at flourising. And students from these schools are doing well in studies and extra curricular activities. But there counterparts in government schools cannot do much because of lack of resources and quality education environment. So, a after-school programme has been started from 01 March 2016 namely STUDY POINT at No 5 Baruajhar to provide holistic education and facilities for rural students. A complete mentorship to uplift there education. We run the programme from 3pm to 5pm in the evening where we impart the lessons on English, Maths and in morning,science from 7:30 am to 8:30 am. Total of 85 students are getting this service from 4 govt. schools of No 5 Baruajhar Panchayat (Dist-Darrang). These students mostly belongs to BPL families of the neighbourhood and most importantly 1st-2nd generation school goer. For future we are trying to expand our capacity and provide practical sessions on computer and internet to give them a global standard education. Practical for science classes too to give them a hand on experience

What do I plan to do with the funds?

With the funds I shall expand our capacity from 85 students in present to 150 students. One-third of the fund will be required to arrange for providing desk and benches in the class room, blackboards, dictionaries and other stationaries.
Remaining funds we shall invest for computer and small science lab with only basic instruments like microscope, slides and speciemens to provide a hand on experience to the students.
