Objective: To help the survivors of Domestic violence to lead life with dignity and stand independent.
Sayodhya, in partnership with various organisations provides skill development training in Garment making and fashion technology to survivors of domestic violence and women who like to expand and enhance their livelihood opportunities.
Training in Garment making & Fashion Technology
Sayodhya in Partnership with other organisations is facilitating basic training in tailoring to survivors of Domestic violence who are hoping to restart their lives. All the successful trainees who complete 100 hours of course work will be given certification of skill training .
In 2017, Sayodhya provided 20 women staying in Sayodhya Shelter home with basic training in Tailoring and garment making.
The aim of this initiative is to encourage them to start their own garment making business. Sayodhya has partnered with experts from NIFT, Hyderabad to provide Advanced Training in Fashion Technology to these 20 budding Women Entrepreneurs who like to expand and enhance their business in garment making. .
Sayodhya will support these trainees with no prior experience in business to start their own tailoring kiosks. also, these budding women entrepreneurs will be supported in Branding of their kiosks, product branding, merchandise promotion and marketing of their products.
How You Can Help
Give a Hand loanYou can provide financial assistance to individual entrepreneurs through lending interest free loans or mobilize support in your friend circle for interest free credit support to women entrepreneurs to start their own kiosks.
The size of the loan ranges from Rs. 5000 to Rs.10,000 and repayable to the donor in 10 installments of Rs. 500/ 1000 per month in 10 installments. You can choose the beneficiary you want to support from the list provided in the attachment. Sayodhya provides the required guarantee for ensuring timely repayment of the money to the lender.
About Sayodhya
SAYODHYA is a non-profit organization based in Hyderabad, established in 2010. It is an initiative of a group of women employees in Dr. Reddy’s Foundation which seeks to primarily cater to women in need of shelter and support. These women felt impelled to start this home after witnessing in their field work a need for a safe haven for women in distress. This shelter home is a transit refuge center for women and children who are escaping range of abusive situations-physical, sexual and emotional, who have no social support systems to rely on and also to rehabilitate them.
Sayodhya Home offers services that include 24-hour availability of emergency shelter; counseling and support for victims’ with a strong conviction that that each survivor of domestic violence has the right to a safe, secure home and the capability to self-determine their violence free future.
Since its establishment in 2010 to till date, Sayodhya has provided emergency shelter to more than 2000 women and young girls.
