Stella Maris College (Autonomous), affiliated to the University of Madras is a premier educational institution dedicated to the cause of learning and higher education for women.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Economics which was established in 1948, offered an undergraduate programme in Economics exclusively for women. Over the years, the Department added to its programme offerings, introducing a postgraduate programme in 1959 (the first women’s college in the city to have started this course) and evolved into a full-fledged research department with M.Phil and PhD programmes in 1982.

ICDCI 2018
ICDCI 2018 aims to provide a forum for academicians, research scholars, policy makers, industrialists, corporates and students to understand and be exposed to a number of current development challenges that India faces.
The Conference will be an ideal platform for constructive dialogue on different dimensions of India’s development.
