My mother, has immense strength. Every one who know my mom use to say that. She is a cardiac patient with artificial valve for past 18 years. She use to be ill most of the days but would get up, never skip work and use to say that she will feel sick if she stays at home. But we knew that she does not want to leave a single day of pay that she can save for her daughters.



My father and mother struggled a lot to meet ends and brought us up with the minimal salary they earned. They have dedicated their life to their daughters. And being a daughter I feel ashamed and helpless now that I cannot afford the oxygen she needs till she recovers.

Its been 6 months now my mother is bedridden and suffering. On 7th Nov 2017, she had a major brain stroke which damaged 1/2 of her right brain (MCA infarct). She underwent a life saving surgery Craniectomy which was the only option left to save her. Doctors said that  it was so damaged that they could not clear the block. Only they could do was to save her life. She was left with left side paralysis and her right side was not in her control. My father who is the only bread winner who earns 19k/month in a private firm rarely goes to work and I worked on contract bases and don't have a work now. I have to be at home and take care of her. Potentially we have no income source.

After 2 months of hospitalization on 6th Jan 2018 we took her back home thinking every thing will be fine and slowly she will recover in the homely atmosphere with regular physiotherapy and medication. As a night mare things turned upside down, her condition started deteriorating she developed Bruxism which stopped her taking food from mouth, we started feeding her through ryles tube.

Within these 6 months she was hospitalized thrice for one or the other reason for weeks which drained what ever we were left with.

This time she was admitted with blood clot in abdomen. She underwent surgery again to remove the clot and to place back the skull (Cranioplasty). After the surgery she started talking a lot and we felt positive that she will start recovering now.  But again the storm was ready to hit us, she developed lung infection and was rushed to Neuro ICU and was kept on ventilation support (NIV) for 2 days and now on Oxygen support. She is not conscious, she doesn't respond to us, only sound we could hear is the painful voice and struggle to breath. She is kept on sedatives, when off sedative she becomes unmanageable and irritated.

Once she is out from the lung infection and pains of surgery we have faith that she will gain her consciousness and come out of ICU.
It takes us 35 to 40 K per day in the ICU which is beyond we can even think of now. Doctors say that its unpredictable when, but she will recover. 

We are totally drained and left with nothing after spending around 17lakhs in this 6 months. Portion of the money we have borrowed from friends and family. l don't want to take her back home and stop the treatment so we took her TVM Medical College Kerala through Road Ambulance.

Hope with some support we should be able to manage further expenses  and pay back.

PLEASE HELP! me and my family to give her life back and better treatment.
