Support A Community Centre In Kadugodi

Hello. We are associated with Government Model Primary School Kadugodi.

"In 5 years, private schools gain 17 million students, government schools lose 13 million". I was  shocked to see this and it kept me thinking why everyone wants their kid to be in a private school and what about the people who can't afford to pay the heavy fees of private schools. The students in government school are equally talented as the ones in private schools. The major thing that was lacking was the exposure. In private schools they have different activities in school where the kid gets hands on experience or he/she can afford different classes after school based on the interest.

What is it?
It is a community centre that has different activities : ART-DRAWING,DRAMA,MUSIC-SINGING & INSTRUMENT,ORIGAMI,CLAY MODELLING,READING STORY BOOKS,SPEAKING,CHESS,CRAFT,MEHENDI,RANGOLI,LANGUAGE CLASS,ROBOTICS,CODING.

Why are we doing this?
Here is our attempt to provide kids with the opportunity by starting a community centre. Our project  "SPARK" is a space where we have different activities for our kids.

When are we doing it?
Everyday after school

Why after school?
Last year the Practice for activities we did took away lot of teaching time for us + kids missing out on classes was our major concern.

How many are we impacting?
A class of 100+ students

How are we planning to do it?
By using technology. Setting up laptops learn from net, skype with field experts.

What do we need from you?

Hello,
Sorry its been long I haven't updated you all. I am thankful for all your contributions towards the cause. Each Rupee that you contributed actually did make a lot of difference.
Well to be honest when I stared this project.I strongly believed in it,
i knew this is very important for the development of the kids but did not bother to go deep down, instead I started it with a belief that everything will fall in place and I can get answers to many questions only once I start it. I think it worked for me. Initially I explained what why and how of project. Here is my deeper understanding of the same and glimpse of what is happening and what happened so far

The major threat for us is that the funds have exhausted and I really dont want that to be a reason for the centre to shut down.
Here the solution is the power of collective.Try and reach out to the people we know and see how much each one can contribute. If you work in any company then try pitching this to your colleagues. Even if each person contributes Rs 500 /- can cater to a month's rent.

Thanks Again
