Why am I fundraising?

Soni is a 20 year old woman with two kids and a husband who does not care about being part of the family. She has been trying to make ends meet by working as a househelp. However, she is excellently skilled at stitching clothes. If she can get money for a sewing machine, she can use it to have additonal source of income for herself and her kids by not only doing stitching work but also teach other women this skill. Right now Soni stays in a room which is even smaller than our bathroom. Before the shine and smile fades away from her face, let us get her this sewing machine.

What do I plan to do with the funds?

Funds raised from this campaign will go directly to Soni to buy a sewing machine. She will then use this as a source to look for stitching work and teach this skill to other women around her house.

As mentioned in my initial post, the money was being raised to support Soni and her dreams to build extra income source for herself and family. The support that I received for this campaign went beyond the expected and deep gratitude from my end for this.

I am now withdrawing these funds after 1.5 years and using the surplus money raised in this campaign towards activities preventing sexual harassment of women and men through the entity "Ungender". It is my duty to inform all you donors that your support is going in the right direction and will be utilised to fuel the activities of legal awareness and educational programs.
