Am reaching out to your kindselves through this campaign towards raising funds for my only son, Rajkamal's Liver Transplant Surgey. He has been fighting Budd–Chiari syndrome which is a very rare condition, affecting one in a million adults. This condition is caused usually when a clot narrows or blocks the hepatic veins, which carry blood out of the liver. Because blood flow out of the liver is impeded, blood backs up in the liver, causing it to enlarge. The spleen also enlarges.It presents with the classical triad of abdominal pain, ascites, and liver enlargement. The cause of blood clots is Portal vein thrombosis- blockage of the portal vein (the blood vessel that brings blood to the liver from the intestines).
He has fluid build-up in the abdomen, spleen enlargement resulting in low platelet count, recurrent inappropriate blood clotting & yellowish eyes. Brain-related issues such as Declining ability to reason, memory loss, sleepless nights, seizures and twitching including tremors,severe cramping of muscles in legs and hands which restricts his movement.
Currently I being the sole earning member, dependents comprising of my wife, daughter-in-law & young grandson with my son being off work since Jan '17 due to his condition has made it all the more difficult to arrange the funds for his treatment. Most of our savings & leveraged funds from all other possible sources has been spent to meet overwhelming expenses towards Consultations, Investigations including Blood work up, Multiple MRI & CT Scans,Numerous Hospitalizations for removal of Ascitic Fluid from the abdomen and to correct electrolyte imbalance & Medications which has already run into Lakhs and going further is entirely unattainable.
Has been suffering for over a year now and it has been a tough time for me and our family. Transplant is his only hope of getting better and living a normal life. He needs a Liver transplant urgently which will cost approximately Rs. 25,00,000/-.
The funds raised will be used towards his:
Surgery|Doctor's Consultation Charges|Hospital Bills|Medicines
As time is the essence, raising an amount this high in such a short period of time has brought us to a situation where i am seeking for help which is my last resort. Am left with no other option to save my son.
