Snehashis (locally known as Papun) aged 39, is a popular singer in lower Assam region. He lives in Bongaigaon, Assam with his Wife, daughter aged 6 yrs and aged mother. They were a happy family, but their happiness disappeared when Snehashis had to be admitted in Hospital in Bongaigaon with complaint of pain in stomach in the first week on October 2016. Later, he was diagnosed with Jaundice. His condition deteriorated gradually and was taken to various premier hospital in India like Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad # Neotia Hospital, Siliguri # ILBS, New Delhi and PGI, Chandigarh. He was admitted in all the hospital one after another and received treatment, but Alas!! he did not recover yet and his condition continued to go down day by day. Doctors are not even able to know what has caused the damage to his liver so much so that its not responding to any treatment. He is a non-drinker, non-smoker but God has not spared him still. Doctors said that 70-80% of his liver is damaged, but reasons are not known in Medical Science.
A low income family, whose total monthly earning below Rs. 15000/- pm is trying everything to save their bread earner. There near relatives are helping with the maximum they could. Till now approx 8-9 lacs rupees have been spent, family has sold the plot they had and even the video camera of Snehashis, which was his primary bread earner, to raise fund. Family was struggling to continue the routine treatment which was costing 25-27 K per day at ILBS and thus shifted him to PGI, Chandigarh on 07/02/2017, where the treatment cost per day approx 8-10 K rupees. All the relatives have also exhausted their capability for further treatment and are helpless now..
Doctors at ILBS and PGI has told that Liver Transplant is the only option remains and ILBS has given an estimate of Rs. 17.6 lacs. The family who is already reeling under heavy debt and unable to continue the routine treatment has gone into depression. Now, the family seeks financial support from all sources to help save their bread earner and bring back smile to the 6 yr old daugher (she has not seen his father for last four months).
The family, with folded hands, pleads to all of you to contribute generously for the life saving cause not only of the patient but also the family he has. Please donate as much as you can, the whole family shall remain ever great full to you all.
