On a global level, at least 500 million women and girls lack adequate facilities for menstrual hygiene management. More than 77% of menstruating women in India use an old cloth, which is often reused, ashes, newspapers, dried leaves and husk sand during periods.

Lack of knowledge as to how one should maintain their hygiene during menstruation can cause problems with long term effects. Und women who do not have access, means or the knowledge regarding the same suffer during these hard times and hence the TABOO remains.

HI! I am Sneha Ghosh a first-year law student, who finds growing interest in social issues especially those dealing with women and their rights. I wish to sensitize the subject. I want underprivileged women in society to practice proper menstrual hygiene so that there are no long-term consequences and that they are not plagued by skin problems, among other things. So I got attached with HAMARI PEHCHAN NGO which is working towards promoting better menstrual sanitation amongst slum women through PROJECT SUKHAD. I feel proud to be associated with them and that my contribution will be a part of eradicating the stigma around menstruation.
Hence, I urge you to be a part of us by donating to this support-fundraiser created by me, you can be well assured that your contribution will be put to a righteous cause and will bring a smile to someone's face. :)

Here is proof of the noble work done by HAMARI PEHCHAN-
On World Menstrual Hygiene Day, HAMARI PEHCHAN NGO distributed Sanitary Kits and it came in limelight on Republic Bharat news channel:

After conducting a survey in the slums, it was discovered that there are women who are suffering from various problems due to the non-maintenance of their menstrual health.

Hamari Pahchan NGO has distributed more than 30,000 Sukhad Kits in 2021 and their aim is to distribute at least 50,000 Sukhad Kits to women. These kits would include 24 packets of Sanitary Pads 6 packets of Soap and disposable paper envelopes.

Sukhad Kit for 1 woman = Rs.1400/-
Sukhad Kt for 5 women = Rs.7,000/-
