Sumit's Indian Independence Day fundraiser for Vocational Training | Milaap
This is a supporting campaign. Contributions made to this campaign will go towards the main campaign.

I am fundraising to help aspiring youth access vocational training and acquire professional skills

We have been hearing from the corporate world that their is a lack of skilled man power, and on the other hand we have millions of unemployed youth in our country.
If we are able to facilitate the process of skilling these youths we would have not only made a difference in that individuals life but also to the economy of India.

Every year, so many youngsters are in need of such training and intervention, to get employment in the competitive job market. The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has been having many partners across the country who help bridge this gap with their industry-oriented training programs across various sectors likeHealth-care, IT, Banking, Hospitality, Retail etc. Higher-secondary graduates receive 1-12 months of training and earn certification in programs like General Duty Assistant, Field Sales Executive, Phelbotomy Technician(the one who draws your and my blood in Pathology labs) etc.

Also various universities like Tata Institute of Social Sciences(TISS) and running vocational programs across the country like Bachelor of Vocation(B-Voc) in Patient care Management (PCM) which is 3 year degree program to a Diploma in Geriatic care which is a 1 year program. Together we could help students enrol for these NSDC as well as university based vocational programs and facilitate a transformation in the society.
