Cancer struck Suraj and he is now fighting for his life…
Three weeks ago Suraj went to see a doctor about his back pain. The doctor noticed that his face was swollen and asked how long it had been that way for. Suraj said he noticed it some days ago when he was shaving. After a biopsy test, Suraj was diagnosed with Lymphoma (a form of cancer that affects the immune system).
Today Suraj underwent his first chemotherapy.
“I had no alarming symptoms other than feeling a bit tired and having a backache. The MRI test detected abnormalities that led to my diagnosis. I still cannot believe that someone’s life can change in one second…and here I am now, in the battle field, fighting cancer…”
Everyone was saddened and shocked to hear the sad news about Suraj – a genuine, humble and kind colleague and friend.
Suraj is a caring father, loving spouse and devoted son. He was employed in Singapore and has a beautiful family. More importantly, he gets to spend time with his wife and two young children – Aditya (17) and Atharva (11).
“When I’ve heard the news about my daddy I was shocked… It all didn’t make any sense to me. I pray to God every day in hope that my prayers will reach Him and my dad will be fine again. Less than a month ago he was healthy, active and happy, we spoke with him about attending my graduation ceremony and things that we would do together during the winter break…now all this is another reality to me…”
Recently we’ve learned that Suraj’s medical insurance will only cover a certain amount of the treatment, and with all his savings there is still a large gap…A very large gap that needs to be filled.
Suraj has impacted many of our lives through his kindness, professionalism, his energy, and his positive outlook. It’s time to help him in these rough times. We have set up this fund raising campaign to help alleviate the financial burden for Suraj and his family and help cover some of the medical expenses, so that he can focus on his recovery.
Suraj, his family, friends and colleagues thank you immensely for your generosity.
